How Forager works.

A tech walks the building once using Survey Mode. In each room, they stand in the center for 30 seconds while Forager captures the ambient RF fingerprint — the unique pattern of Wi-Fi and BLE signals visible from that spot. The Coverage screen shows which rooms are ready (green), which need attention (yellow), and which haven't been done (gray). Survey a floor once. Done until the environment changes.
During normal IT work, the tech opens Presence Confirmation. The app continuously reads the RF environment and identifies the current room — no buttons, no selection, no GPS required. The tech scans asset barcodes. Each scan creates a compliance record: asset tag, room, tech, timestamp, and confirmation type (match, mismatch, or new asset). A mismatch means the asset isn't where the CMDB says it should be — Forager flags it and lets the tech resolve it on the spot.
Every confirmation is written to the Forager Cloud with a full audit trail. If a ServiceNow webhook is configured, the CI record updates within seconds of the scan — no batch jobs, no manual entry. Admins review the Attestation Log, pull compliance exports, and check Coverage health from the web dashboard. The IT director can show an auditor exactly where every managed device was last confirmed, by whom, and when.
Forager works with signals that already exist — the Wi-Fi access points and BLE devices your building is already full of. No readers bolted to walls, no proprietary tags, no network reconfiguration. Any Android phone your techs already carry is the only hardware you need.

A barcode scan proves a tag was read. It doesn't prove a human was physically present with the device. For high-value or high-risk equipment, that distinction matters to auditors and insurers.

When photo attestation is enabled, Forager captures a tight crop of the physical asset tag at the moment of each scan — automatically, without any extra step from the tech. The photo is linked to the attestation record and visible in the dashboard alongside the confirmation log.

Useful for disputed CMDB records, insurance audits, and equipment accountability investigations. Images are stored privately and never publicly accessible.
